AVAILABILITY

My books are currently closed

Although I would love to offer you an immediate appointment, all the spaces in my October intake have been filled, so my books are now closed.

Women who work with me are guaranteed a space for as long as they find their sessions useful. This means that spaces only become available when someone feels their work with me is complete.

If I have spaces available to offer, I will reopen my books on 8th January 2025. If you are still looking for support around that time, I invite you to contact me then. The best way to submit an enquiry is through the form that will appear here when my books are open.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Well, no! It’s just a conversation between two women. The lovely thing about therapy is that you don’t need to do any work towards guiding the conversation or figuring out what to say. I’ll do that so you don’t have to. You can trust me to hold whatever you say with compassion and empathy. You can feel, do or say whatever you need to.

  • My rate is $210 for a one hour session, or $315 for a 90 minute session. Payment is taken at the end of each session. Various rebates are available through private health insurance and Medicare. The full fee is charged for short notice cancellations.

  • Yes. As an accredited provider of mental health services under the Better Access scheme, my fees are eligible for a Medicare rebate. The current rebate is $85.20, for a maximum of 10 sessions per year. If you have reached your Medicare Safety Net in this calendar year, your rebate will be significantly higher, currently $185.05. I will submit the claim to Medicare on your behalf. You will need a referral letter from your GP under a mental health care plan to be eligible for the rebate.

  • Absolutely. Some people prefer not to engage with the mental health care plan process. You do not need a referral to book an appointment with me. My fee is $210 for a one hour session, which you are welcome to pay privately.

  • Yes. You can claim Occupational Therapy services through your private health cover. Some people find this rebate is higher than what Medicare offers, depending on their particular extras policy. I will email you an invoice after your session with all the details required for you to make a claim with your health fund.

  • We can work together for as long as you find our sessions useful. You will know when your therapy journey is complete.

  • Absolutely! Mothering is just one aspect of some women’s lives. Women are so much more than just one thing. I work with younger women and older women, mothers who want support around their parenting, mothers who want support around something unrelated to parenting, women who have chosen not to be mothers and women for whom circumstances have prevented them making the choices they wanted. Being a mother is not synonymous with being a woman, and my practice is about supporting women with whatever is getting in the way of them living the life they want.

  • I run a small practice exclusively within business hours. If you are looking for therapy appointments out of hours, a larger therapy practice or online counselling service might be a better fit for you.

  • My cancellation policy is based on the assumption that we will both be respectful of each other’s time, and the recognition that life is sometimes unpredictable. I am happy to reschedule appointments given plenty of notice. I always prefer you to cancel an appointment rather that attend with an illness that could be contagious, so I encourage you to consider cancelling if you are starting to feel unwell as your appointment approaches. Non-emergency cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the standard appointment fee, or less than 48 hours’ notice for 90 minute sessions. If you need to cancel at the last minute and paying the cancellation fee would cause you financial hardship, please let me know.

  • Often people find me through word of mouth, and I welcome recommendations. However, if there’s a conflict of interest that would compromise my therapeutic relationship with you, I will refer on to another therapist. I don’t offer relationship counselling for couples, and I tend not to see both members of an intimate partner relationship separately, because having the same therapist can get complicated for couples.

  • You only need a referral from a GP if you wish to claim the Medicare rebate for your sessions. Talk to your GP about a mental health care plan to access 10 Medicare supported sessions per calendar year. If you do not wish to claim the Medicare rebate, you don’t need a referral; you can simply book an appointment with me directly.

  • I am no longer accepting referrals for new clients who have plan managed NDIS packages. Of course, you are welcome to see me privately and seek reimbursement from your self managed NDIS plan, but please be aware that I do not offer report writing for NDIS purposes.

  • Availability for new appointments fluctuates. My website is always kept up to date with availability information. When I have appointments available, you will see a button for the booking request form at the top of this page. When I am fully booked, you will see an estimate of when I will have appointments available next, so you can return and fill out the form then should you still be looking for support.

  • I don’t keep a waiting list. Instead I open my books when I have appointments available and close them when I am fully booked. As a rough guide, I tend to have appointments available about four times a year, booking with each new school term.

  • I choose to have a small practice with a limited number of ongoing clients. It’s important to me to invest quality time engaging deeply, and using all of my therapeutic skills to authentically connect with the person I’m with. I schedule a limited number of appointments each day, allowing time to pause and reflect between every session, so that I can be confident I am providing the highest quality service to each and every person.
